ABFFE v. Burns Continues After Alaska Legislature Removes Language from H.B. 127

In response to Media Coalition's challenge to the harmful to minors law Alaska passed in 2010, the legislature attempted to pass a constitutionally acceptable bill that addressed their concerns without infringing upon the First Amendment. H.B. 127 and S.B. 27 are companion bills that attempted to narrow the law at issue in ABFFE v. Burns. However, on March 11 the House Judiciary Committee removed the language that addressed the parts of the law Media Coalition is challenging. The court case thus continues.
