California Senator and author of the state's embattled violent video game law Leland Yee joined the California chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the California Psychological Association in submitting an amicus brief in support of his law to the Supreme Court, which will hear a challenge to the statute brought by Media Coalition members EMA and ECA in its upcoming term. On Monday, the attorneys general of Connecticut, Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Texas, and Virginia all signed on to an amicus brief filed by Louisiana Attorney General James D. Caldwell. The Eagle Forum and Common Sense Media also filed briefs in support of California.
All four briefs can be found on Media Coalition's page devoted to the case.
Respondents, EMA and ECA, will file their brief on or before September 10th. Amicus briefs supporting their position will be filed on or before September 17.
